Whatever work I’m doing with my clients, at some point the topic of effectiveness comes up. “What are the fundamentals of being effective in life and work?”
What I share is often surprising, because it’s so basic and obvious it doesn’t occur to us. Like any good magic trick when you know how it’s done it never has the same effect on you, but recreating the trick is another thing entirely…
5 Ways to be effective
- Have a goal and a game plan. Get a Calendar! Put all your appointments in it and refer to it daily. Plan your time and stick to it!
- Make a list of all the things you have to do (tasks). Put them in your calendar!
- Take total responsibility for your life/business/career. Do only what you can and delegate the rest.
- Take care of your physical body – eat well, exercise well, sleep well etc.
- Get a sponsor / coach. Use your calendar. Manage your time.
I want you to always remember that you’re always on your own time. Spend it wisely.
